Post-Katrina Hobby: Surveys
I don’t trust myself
to stand
on the levee,
Because really, why would I?
They don’t trust me either, the deciders, as if something
might go wrong.
As if.
So I stand near it, close
enough to spot
I don’t know what, a hole?
Day’s last light
threads itself between
me and the other shadows.
I glance back
towards the river,
close my eyes
and don’t pray.
Image of Inspiration.
